Remedy For Hiccup

Hiccup is characterized by a "hic!" sound. It comes in an inconvenient time and it usually happens when you eat too quickly or too much.

So, what is an effective remedy you can try to stop hiccup? Drink water. After your last gulp, take a deep breath and hold your breath for a few seconds and then exhale. Repeat this step once or twice. This remedy usually works for me. Another remedy for hiccup you can try is to put sugar under your tongue. Although they say it is effective, I have not tried it yet.

Hiccup will only last for a few seconds. In some cases though, hiccup will persist after a few days or weeks, which is a sign of another medical condition.

Hiccups have always fascinated me because they just happen w/o any kind of warning at all. It is good to know what causes them and some remedies to get rid of them. I will try to remember these tips the next time they occur. I always thought that scaring them out of a person was the most fun!

Hello EddieGarcia,

Scaring them would be fun and would also do the trick. Thanks again for visiting. :)

Hello medical refrigeration,

"put my hands behind my back and try to touch each hand which stretches your torso"-- this would be another remedy a sufferer may implement. Thank you for visiting. :)

Hi

Dropping by to ask for your prayers and support for the Flood Victims of Typhoon Ondoy that just hit the Philippines, Metro Manila. I was very fortunate that my apartment has been spared from the major flooding but many have died and many more need to be rescued. Drop by over at empty streets to find out how you can also support those that have been hit by this tragedy.

sincerely,

Metz
