I, now, have an excuse to eat more dark chocolates every day.
A study revealed that eating dark chocolates a day can significantly raise HDL or good cholesterol by 9%. In this study, volunteers consumed 100g of dark chocolates and that is about 2300kJ of dark chocolates.
I need to raise my HDL or good cholesterol. So, the delicious way of increasing it is to eat dark chocolates. Right now, I am nibbling on Godiva dark chocolate while writing this… nom nom nom.

That is good news. Isn't it lower in sugar too which means it's 'good' for pre diabetics like me?
Hello Anji,
I'm not sure about dark chocolate's role in lowering sugar level in the body.
Thank you for visiting.
Do you know how much they recommend?
Oh! I didn't think that it would lower sugar levels. I thought that there was less sugar used in the making of it
Hello Joanna,
It didn't disclose the recommended dosage but the volunteers in that study ate 100g of dark chocolate each day. However, smaller daily doses may also be effective in the long run.
I am also drinking hot cocoa every morning. I have yet to see the result of it. :)
Thank you for visiting.
Hello Anji,
Thanks again for dropping by and thank you for that correction. I think it has less sugar than other variety of chocolates. :)
I actually have hard that dark chocolate helps regulate blood sugar but I'm not sure exactly how. I do know it regulates certain hormones in the body and that it has lots of antioxidants that are supposed to prevent damage from free radicals. Still, though, I'm not a fan. I'm more of a milk chocolate lover.
Hello Arwen,
Yeah, I concur. I think dark chocolates have antioxidants that protect us from any damaging effects of free radicals.
Although it has less sugar, too much of it is bad enough to cause health problems.
Thank you for visiting.
